Late to the Walmart “Creature” Party
I'm sure I'm super late to the party, but I was just turned on to the marvelous PeopleOfWalmart.com. Wow! They have thousands of images of curious people who have made interesting choices in their lives and their attire, and have decided to flaunt them in their local Walmart. I find it wonderfully life affirming, and generally not in a condescending or judgmental way. Some of these people are crazy, some are stupid, but a lot of others are just free of the social constraints that bind the rest of us to our ill-founded dogmas. So seeing these liberated folks is something to celebrate and learn from! About a year ago I was in a used bookstore and found a Time Life book entitled Odd and Eccentric People which was similarly awesome. Regrettably most people go to PeopleOfWalmart just to mock their fellow humans, and I do find pictures which provoke that response from me. But look harder and you'll see more.
